Experience craftsmanship & build your own motorhome organiser
Insight into the working world
Vehicle manufacturing manufactory in Bohmte
Experience real manufactory craftsmanship first-hand: at the Zukunftstag at VARIOmobil in Bohmte, students from grades 5 to 10 discover the world of vehicle construction – practical, creative and directly connected to vocational training.
Creative 3D project
Motorhome
organiser in VARIOmobil design
A special highlight is the hands-on 3D project:
the creation of an individual desk organiser in VARIOmobil design – perfect for pens and Post-it notes.
“This creates a tangible result that brings together craftsmanship, design and precision,” says trainer Jana Michaelis.
Factory tour & safety briefing
Guided factory tour & safety briefing
The engaging work-experience day begins with a structured guided tour through the VARIOmobil vehicle manufacturing manufactory. Production Manager André Wettstein presents all key areas of the company – complemented by a thorough safety briefing.
Because in vehicle construction, one principle always applies:
precision, quality and safety come first.
Apprenticeships in vehicle construction |
Insights into all trades
Participants of Zukunftstag move through various stations and experience the full range of modern manufactory craftsmanship:
- Engineering
- In-house carpentry workshop
- metal fabrication workshop
- In-house paint shop
- In-house final assembly
- Design Department
- Office Management & Documentation
This provides a holistic insight into the development and production of exclusive motorhomes – from the initial concept to the finished vehicle.
Engineering & Implementation |
From concept to the finished product
In the engineering department, participants begin by gaining a solid theoretical foundation. B.Sc. Alexander Neven and Martina Schunke, as experienced professionals, convey the fundamentals of modern vehicle development. The individual steps from planning to implementation are clearly explained – followed by hands-on application in their own project…

Practice in detail | From the CAD model
to the finished organiser
In 3D CAD design, students gain insight into the individual components of the organiser and create precise drawings for production.
This clearly demonstrates how well-conceived assemblies are formed from individual parts – and how everything comes together as a functional overall product.
Craftsmanship in action |
Painting, wood and metal construction
Another key step is material processing:
- Painting of the aluminium components – including professional surface preparation
- Woodworking in the carpentry workshop – sanding, fitting and assembling
- Metalworking in the metal shop – deburring and drilling for precise fit
This makes it clear how many precise individual steps are required to create a high-quality product.
Final assembly |
From individual components to a design object
During the final assembly, participants bring all components together to create a finished motorhome organiser.
The design follows the standards of a true VARIOmobil: clean lines, premium materials and precise craftsmanship.
A brushed, laser-engraved stainless steel support forms the base – both functional and visually striking.
Takeaway result |
Technology, design and real hands-on experience
At the end, there is a fully finished organiser ready for everyday use.
Post-it notes and pens find their place – making the project tangible.
At the same time, participants develop their own design variations and create a structured project documentation.
In this way, the Future Day at VARIOmobil combines practical work with creative thinking and provides a genuine insight into the world of vehicle construction.
Future Day at VARIOmobil |
Nurturing talent. Creating perspectives.
The Future Day at VARIOmobil combines orientation, hands-on experience and enthusiasm for craftsmanship and technology. It demonstrates the diversity of vocational careers in vehicle construction – and how ideas are turned into real products.
