We offer four models that differ fundamentally in the overall design and construction of the motorhome.
The VARIO Star is the entry-level model within the VARIOmobil family in terms of size. However, the high quality is a standard that runs consistently through all models.
The VARIO Perfect is the flagship of our company.
The VARIO Alkoven retains its original driver’s cab and is extended by an additional sleeping area above the cab – the alcove. This creates the characteristic motorhome silhouette.
The VARIO Signature represents the semi-integrated version of the VARIOmobil range. It combines the benefits of the fully integrated VARIO Perfect with the original front design of the Mercedes-Benz Actros.
The permissible exterior dimensions of a VARIOmobil are governed by the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO). Typical dimensions are within the following range:
This depends on the model built and therefore also on the chassis used. It is essential that no axle loads are exceeded. For this reason, the chassis must always be dimensioned accordingly to ensure sufficient payload capacity. In the lightest configuration, we use an 8.8 t chassis that is derated to 7.5 t. In the heaviest configuration, a 26 t three-axle chassis is used. All vehicles operate within this range.
To operate a VARIOmobil registered with a permissible gross vehicle weight of 7.49 t, a minimum of a C1 driving licence is required. Drivers who obtained their licence before 1999 may rely on the former German Class 3 licence, which permits vehicles up to 7.5 t permissible gross vehicle weight.
For vehicles exceeding 7.5 t permissible gross vehicle weight, a Category C driving licence is mandatory.
A standard Category B licence is not sufficient under any circumstances.
Prices start at approximately €655,000 and increase depending on equipment, size, and level of customization. Every VARIOmobil is a bespoke handcrafted product with no upper price limit.
The delivery time of a motorhome depends on several factors. First, there is the procurement time for the chassis. In addition, our extensive in-house production depth requires considerable time to plan and build your VARIOmobil exclusively for you. Furthermore, previously placed orders must be completed first. For this reason, you should expect an approximate delivery time of around 1.5 years. Please feel free to contact us so that we can provide you with the most up-to-date information.
Used VARIOmobil vehicles can be purchased on the secondary market. From time to time, we also offer pre-owned motorhomes from our own production for sale. However, a small number of available vehicles meets a large number of interested buyers, which means they are usually sold very quickly. Another factor is that many of our satisfied customers have been driving their VARIOmobil for 30 years or more and have no intention of selling it. With an annual production of approximately 15 motorhomes, high demand meets a very limited supply.
Unfortunately, this is not possible at our factory.

A VARIOmobil can be ordered exclusively through our manufactory, VARIOmobil Fahrzeugbau GmbH, located in 49163 Bohmte. We do not operate multiple locations, nor do we work with distributors or dealers. Orders are placed directly with us at our factory, as this is the only way to ensure optimal customer support from the very beginning.
We use chassis from Mercedes-Benz (Atego / Actros) as well as from MAN (TGL / TGM / TGS). Which chassis is best suited to a particular motorhome ultimately depends on your individual requirements and preferences. In any case, we are happy to advise you in detail on all available options.
The chassis is delivered directly from the manufacturer as a platform chassis on a low-loader trailer.
Depending on the motorhome model, the driver’s cab is completely removed. The chassis is then individually modified: for customer-specific wheelbase adjustments, it is cut in the center and realigned. At the rear, it is shortened if required to integrate a frame drop, for example to accommodate a passenger car garage.
In addition, a robust, high-rigidity tubular steel space frame is mounted and welded onto the chassis. This forms the structural foundation for the heated double floor, which integrates the technical systems, tanks, and generously sized storage compartments.
Only the chassis is supplied by the manufacturer. All other components are manufactured at our factory in Bohmte. This includes:
The entire body structure of the vehicle is manufactured from GRP (glass-reinforced plastic). All walls consist of vacuum-pressed GRP sandwich panels, which are bonded and integrated with our in-house laminated GRP front section in a monocoque-style construction.
In combination with the tubular space frame mounted on the chassis, this results in an exceptionally stable and torsion-resistant overall structure.
We offer comprehensive service at our factory in Bohmte. Simply bring your motorhome to us, and we will take care of it. With our all-inclusive service package, your VARIOmobil remains fully operational and ready for use at all times.
If service work on the chassis is required, this can of course also be carried out at the authorised service centre of the respective chassis manufacturer.
We believe that comprehensive support for your VARIOmobil from a single source – namely ours – helps to maintain the vehicle’s high quality, allowing you to enjoy your travels with complete peace of mind.
We recommend an annual service inspection at our facility. Depending on the vehicle components, this includes the TÜV inspection as well as gas system and leak tests. This ensures both safety and roadworthiness.
